Caipirinha
Brazil's national cocktail, this cocktail is made not with standard rum but with cachaça, a distilled spirit made from fermented sugar cane juice (as opposed to fermented molasses, from which most rums are derived). The Caipirinha was invented in the 19th Century by farmers in south central Brazil, a region with a long history of growing sugar cane. To make a Caipirinha you will need the following equipment:
